This fundraising event is about creating awareness and raising funds for this all important organization within our city. The evening will consist of performances, DJ’s, bands, and an art auction of local artists who have generously donated their works of art.
FYFB was founded in February 1998 as an independent agency of the Daily Bread Food Bank Foundation of Toronto. They have evolved beyond being exclusively a Food Program, as they now provide an integrated set of services including Counseling and Advocacy, Community Drop-In Centre, and Community Vitality. They assist a diverse group of recently unemployed or nderemployed clients by providing the services required to reintegrate back into the community. Including clients in both of Toronto's gay villages.
Brian Collins Toronto jazz pianist
He has scored soundtrack for CFTO newscasts, composed and recorded for Government self help videos and has had numerous appearances on CITY TV, CTV, Channel 47, CFTO, TLN and Much Music. He has performed in countless clubs, concert halls and Arenas in North America as well as Great Britain. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Brian Draws upon from a rich musical background which started at age four when he first sat at a piano and could play Themes from The TV Programs of the time.
He has played Bass for 24 years and is well versed in all styles and has a reputation of being a great innovator of the instrument. He is also a prolific pianist and can be found heading up his own Jazz trio around local clubs. Brian’s personal claim comes as a composer, often improvising rich melodies and harmonies that capture the magic of the moment at hand.
He has performed with noted artists like Ted Quinlan (Jazz guitarist) Lisa Martinelli (Jazz Vocalist) Michael Hanson (Glass Tiger) Oran Demir (Turk Guitar legend) Curtis Lee (blues guitarist) Recording artist Harry Muria, Socan award winner opera diva Patrizia, has played in the Atlantis production of Grease and has opened on stages for Recording artists The Watchmen, The tea Party, Phish, Matthew good Band, Head, Sloan and Lowest of the low.
